What is the easiest and cheapest way to send money to asia from the US.?

I'm trying to send some money to a relative in Asia, but through my bank they cost like $45 and using western union, there's an amount limit. I'm sending around us$1500-$2500 Thanks

your bank sounds about as good as it gets.

$45 is cheaper than the price Western Union would charge. The Bank wire transfer direct to your relatives account would be the safest and quickest way, unless you plan on mailing a cashiers check, which would take even longer and the bank in the Asian country will most likely hold the check under scrutiny.

Its either that or western union several small amounts but then you are paying more than the $45 the bank charges for a transfer. Only other idea would be for your relative to get a prepaid credit card (available at walgreens) and you load the money onto there (dont at specific retailers).
