Why are the filters of cigarettes in Europe brown and in Asia white?

Why are the filters of cigarettes in Europe brown and in Asia white?(The piece of paper around the filter-can't smoke it)

Because white is cooler and asia is into that.

depends on brand, in US theres both.

there are brown filters on some cigs in asia, its just probbaly the brand or where it is manufactured
