What do you think was the European trade impact on Asia?

"Europe's trade impact on Asia: first impressions" From the very first, European interests and colonistys have always declared that trade with Asia brought considerably more benefits to Asia than negative impacts. Europeans argued that it brought commerce, jobs, and eventually education, hospitals and social improvement.

So what do u think?

It is hard to generalize lumping everyone together as European. Early countries such as Portugal and Holland made fortunes off the spice trade, and had little regard for the natives. However the British invested heavily in the infrastructure of modern day India and Malaysia, this helped both succeed. While countries like Vietnam and Indonesia failed, because of the lack of investment and training by their colonial rulers.
