Does the rainy season in asia thtreaten to give my camera lenses fungus?

I want to travel to south east asia in the next couple of weeks, bankok, saigon. I understand that the humidity there could be so fierce that it can affect camera lenses. fungus can grow on the glass? Is this true and is there soemthing I can do to stop it?

A high humidity environment will basically shut down your camera. I don't know about the fungus you are speaking of.
