check the charger that came with it, see if it is duel, my charger that came with my Canon Rebel TXi is duel and specifically stated do not use a converter, it will shorten the life of the battery, just get a plug adaptor..
That was in the operators manual
I purchased my camera from N American dealers and I am currently in South Korea charging away.
As you have purchased the camera in N.America, I assume that it is of 110V.
I don't know about the rest of Asia but it is 220V-240V in India, so you need the converter there. Actually nowadays the converter that comes with most of the equipments ( battery for a laptop for example) can work for both the voltages ( 110V to 240V). But the real problem is in finding the relevant plug. SOme are flat ones, In India it is round ones.. So you may need to check out the type of plug points in the countries you are going to visit.
You probably will need a converter, but go to Frommers.com or another travel website and see what kind of electrical outlets they use in Asia.
Hi it depends on which country is ur charger from and what is the Supply voltage there. Most countries in Asia use 220~240 V/50Hz . Also check your adapter , if it is specific to only 100~110 V/60Hz or a wide range 100/110 V ~ 220/240V 60/50Hz.
If it is a wide range , you don't have to worry . All u'll need to buy is a power plug adapter to match the plug type.
