Why have doctors stopped prescribing Diconal Medication & is it prescribed in Asia?

My father used to take Diconal tablets for is bad back but we have been told they've been stopped, why? & are they still prescribed in Asia?

maybe theyre addictive. maybe still perscribed in asia. who knows.
